My hubby is thinking of putting one in himself, as the dealership is asking crazy money just for the cam and then charging to put it in. Thanks Maxine It was a very easy install. Remove the tailgate access place, replace the factory handle with the one they send, run the wire to the cab and then hook up to 12vdc and the uConnect system. Took me about an hour and a half with the majority of that to make a very clean connection to power under the dash. Then he told me it’s on back order.
Also asked my dealership to give me the XAC flash while I was at the dealership and was told they can’t do the flash til after the cam is installed. They said they can set up cam as option in my truck now tho??? I have the 8. I do have a power locking tailgate and found that the harness going to the tailgate is the one with wires and not just 2. I did find that when my truck was built Dodge used the model year tail gate handle in my truck since I did not have a camera.
I purchased a rear camera and the holes did not line up to my handle I was just going to drill the hole. I found that if I bought the year camera the holes would have lined up, but the wiring harness is different and the camera is double the price. So I just bought a tailgate handle that already has the hole for the camera and the holes in the right place.
Connecting Your iPod to a Home Stereo
Is there a line level output anywhere on the factory harness for the factory sub options, or is the only option to tap into the speaker? Two ways to connect it. If you have a sub channel then you tap that and feed it into the left input on the LC2i. It pulls off the bass signals, cleans it up and provides a boost and optional bass level control knob. This is THE best way to add subs to an existing factory system. My challenger doesn’t have a factory sub, but was hoping since it was an available option that the cabling would already be there to tap into that instead.

Black Well the wife dropped off the SXT at the dealer today. My dash piece that covers the air bag was a bit of an eyesore, they ordered me a new one from Detroit and are replacing it today. Uconnect came up in the conversation. My window sticker said it had the radio with Uconnect and the salesperson used the Uconnect as quite a little selling tool for the car, lol. First thing the service manager did was run the VIN and he said, “the computer shows that Uconnect isn’t even available with this car”.
Luckily my salesperson came in and said, “well I saw it on the sticker myself and told the customer me that it came with the car”. By the time she left the service manager said they would look into and since the salesperson even said something, we have a leg to stand on.

Common Tweeter placement Sail panel: Some vehicles come with their factory tweeters mounted right there. If your car came with factory tweeters, bottom mount is your best mounting option. If your vehicle is already equipped with factory tweeters in the dash, bottom mount is your best option. It consists of drilling a large hole in the door panel to accomodate the new tweeter.
Whichever method or location you choose, bear in mind that manufacturers recommend that your tweeters should be mounted within 12 inches of the speakers. Otherwise, sound frequencies emitted by both the woofers and tweeters may reach your ears at slightly different times, resulting in waves interference or acoustic phase cancellation.
Tweeters Installation Process Step 1: Gain access to the speakers and tweeters Each vehicle is different , but gaining access to your speakers as a straightforward process. Locate where the speakers and tweeters are mounted and take them out. Get rid of the old stuff Once you are in,disconnect all the wires and get a screw driver, speakers and tweeters are usually secured in their mounting location via screws,so use a Phillips-head driver to unscrew the screws holding them. High-frequencies to the tweeter — low frequencies to the woofers At this stage , all you need to do is connect high frquency wire from the crossover to the tweeter and connect the low frequency wire the woofer.
Re-mounting The only left thing to do is to put both speakers and tweeters in their mounting location ensuring that each component fits securely. Ensure that the mounting location has access to existing speaker wiring.

Never had to do that with my S2. Only no lock screen at all works. I need the lock screen, I keep about 7 different work passwords on my phone. Twice I have had to delete and re-pair the two together because the car stereo doesn’t seem to keep the contacts list or at least not all of it. I find contacts that are listed in there, but without a phone number assigned to it when it is clearly in the phone. So when I press the button on the steering wheel and say “call George – mobile” if I have stumbled on another contact with no number assigned, it dials whoever it feels like dialing at the moment.
Again, never a problem with my S2. Is anyone else having these issues? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have tried everything I can think of or find in the settings. Thanks I have a Chrysler C with Uconnect.

Anyway, I decided to install this myself. Here’s how it went. Some disassembly and reassebly is required, and the upper left garnish that covers the roll bar and a-piller is the place to start. It’s held on by two or three bolts and a spring clip. Another pair of spring clips hold the A-pillar trim in place. These two pieces are coming off to make way for the microphone cable we’ll install later.
More clips hold the driver’s side knee trim panel in place. It’s removal is necessary to fish the new wires through. The IP surround also needs to come off. Removal of this pocket, which clips on, allows access to one of the screws that holds it in place.
